Upholding its name as one of the greenest suppliers of fuel-efficient diesel cars in UK, Citroen UK is running its fleet of cars and vans based in its UK Head Office using only B30 biodiesel blend. This 30 per cent biodiesel blend will help Citroen meet EU’s demand for greater production of plant-derived fuels and UK Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation’s target to sell atleast 5% biofuels from a combined sales of all fuels by 2010. Moreover, it will also help realise Brussel’s imposition of reducing CO2 emissions from the current average of 160g/km to 120g/km by 2012 to all motor and oil industries collectively. Since B30 use makes possible the reduction of CO2 emission by 20 per cent, the fuel would go a long way to help Citroen meet such enlisted goals above. Currently, Citroen UK shares the top position with Toyota Aygo for providing the most fuel-efficient cars in UK-such cars have only 109 g/km CO2 emissions level. Read more
